Hi TSMer's

I'm working on a Novell cluster, Can anyone tell me what is the relationship between DSMC and DSMCAD?

If we load DSMCAD with optfile specified for the cluster backups

(renaming DSMCAD for each instance), will this then autoload/unload

DSMC as needed?

Novell tsm client 5.2.2

TSM version 5.2.1.3

Novell 6

Thanks for any help

Hi

DSMC is the program (NLM) that the server uses backingup & restoring with Novell. DSMCAD is an agent that enables the TSM web client for Novell and can talk with the server scheduler so that DSMC doesn't have to stay loaded - DSMCAD will load DSMC when it is needed, which is good because DSCM can be a big memory hog.

ere is a command for the opt file that tells DSMCAD what to control -

' managedservices schedule webclient'

I'm working with a similar setup as yours but am having prblems with the webclient - the web client on 1 server only shows the local volumes not the clustered ones & I see different volumes in the backup window than in the restore window. Is your web client working correctly?

Thanks

Dave
