Not able to Restore TSM serverFrom DB backup

Hi,



I am running TSM serevr 5.3.2, unfortunatly my server crashed and i am trying to restore the server from the DB backup.Restoration went fine but after completing the restoarion of DB i am trying to run dsmserv.exe and it is doing the below process and hangs there...



Any body having any idea about this ......would be very helpfull if some one can help.

You didn't say how long you've been waiting, but if your log is rather large and the server was under stress when it crashed, redo can take a ver long time. Longest I've seen was 8 hours with a 13GB log that was almost full and more than a thousand active sessions at the time it crashed. Watch disk and processor activity. It should access the log and db disks with a rather slow read/write thruput ob probably less than 1 MB/s and a couple hundred IO/s. If that's not the case and the box just sits there and does absolutely nothing, you could reformat the server before restore (you'll loose data) or call IBM.
