In library there are 5 cartridges in volume 200Gb. At creation jukebox the utility jbconfig I have specified type of cartridges Ultrim-2. of 5 cartridges are in one to bullet for automatic replacement Networker of a cartridge in case of filling another. At viewing through the console (http://host:9000) and mminfo it is visible that one of cartridges is filled on 100 % and networker continues to write to him. After filling a cartridge on 968Гб networker automatically started to write to other cartridge. How can be if capacity of a cartridge 200Gb, and in him it is written down 968Гб?

Compression.

I have one LTO-2 tape, 200 GB native, that has 950 GB on it. Some data compresses rather well. Database backups seem to fall in this category.

How it is possible to check up, what Nwtworker or library IBM 3582 carries out a compression of the data? And it is possible to disconnect in general for experiment of it?

First, what kind of compression are you utilizing? OS, Networker directive, or tape drive? You should not use multiple types of compression. You will find that alot of libraries will compress data before writing to tape. Using two types of compression will defeat the purpose of the speed LTO2s are capable of.

And it is Johan posted, the compression fools with Networker and may report 100% but it is not always accurate. Tapes that are truly 100% utilize will report as "full".
