NDMP recover and UTF-8 characters

It dies on UTF-8 characters, åäö.
NDMP target is a Netapp filer and it has sv.UTF-8 as charset and the networker config is as below.
nsrndmp_save -s nsrserverhost -c filer1 -M -T dump

HIST=y
UPDATE=y
UTF8=y
EXTRACT_ACL=y

In the NDMP debug some y and n are lower and some are uppercase,releavant?

Is the options fixed at backup or is there any magic involved, changing an y to an n doesn+t seem to do anything according to the NDMPD log.
