NDMP NAS restore without the NAS

Anyone restored a NDMP NAS backup after they have decommissioned the NAS ?
I followed the IBM doc but no joy. Now wondering if its possible as format is NDMPdump and normally you need the same hardware to restore onto.

Yeah its not possible, dont upgrade or replace your NAS if you want to be able to restore.
