All,
I have just configured NDMP based backups for our NetApp filers. I am able to backup to the primary pool (which is a NetApp VTL) and I am now trying to copy or migrate this data to physical tape so I can send it off-site.
When I try to backup the primary NAS storage pool I am getting the following:
ANR2767E BACKUP STGPOOL: The data format of storage pool NASPOOL does not match the data format of storage pool NDMPOFFSITE. (SESSION: 78)
I believe that I can have the Filer copy between storage pools, but I am trying not to use the filer to copy the data (due to overhead). The dataset is about 11TB.
I would be interested if anyone else is using VTL infront of Tape for NDMP backups, and how they are getting it to physical type.
I thought that DRM (Disaster Recovery Manager) might work, but running into same issues of not being able to copy the storage pool.
I am using TSM 5.5 Extended Edition.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
Thanks,
Will
