I am trying to demonstrate NDMP (Network data management
protocol)I have ndmp source code which contain tcl client to test server and server contain data service and tape service.
data service: to take data backup data from ext2/ext3 file system
tape service: which can backup up to only on tape device
.
In linux(RHEL5.2),is there any way to configure disk drive or
directory as tape.Means to perform tape emulation so i can back
up to on it
If yes then how?
means Is there any way to configure disk drive as tape
so i am able to give name of that device as input to following command
tape_open device_name
Please help
Thanks for rply in advance
Thanks,
Ajay
