Guys,
We are in the process of implementing NDMP backups and I am trying to produce a method to monitor / report on backup exceptions (ie failures) on a daily basis.
Current thoughts....
We are using Admin schedules, so can check the scheduled job has been kicked off by running "q eve * t=a begind=-1", we can then look at processes spawned for each of the NDMP tasks and ensure they complete with a success status.
Now this is great as a manual task, but are i'm really only looking to report on exceptions / failures so that the team can address these before the next scheduled backup window.
What are you guys doing to check up on your NDMP backups? Are they ANR codes I can look to pull from the logs that reflect issues with NDMP backups? Does anybody have some sample scripts, methods that I can utilise rather than re-invent the wheel here?
