Missed backups

My desktop scheduled backups keep failing "missed" and will not backup unitl I restart the TSMScheduler service. Any Ideas.

Is your scheduler service autostart when boot?



If so, please verify the event log after your reboot your desktop to see if the scheduler service is hang or not.

Scheduler service is running ok, scheduled backups work for a few days then just stop and will not start again until I stop and start scheduler service. Nothing appearing in event log.

what about dsmerror.log and dsmsched.log on client?

dsmerror.log doesn't show anything. dsmsched.log had stopped half way through a back up, when I checked the TSM server it says backup still in progress.



Looks like TSM won't start the back up because it thinks the old one is still running. Any ideas?
