i have the nice Task here for the Migration from Backupexec to TSM.
TSM works a little bit different and i have some Problems with the Backupdefinitions.
On the BackupE. we have the "classic" Grandfather, Father, Son Strategy with some Backups Never deleted (Sourcecode and so).
But TSM work different. I have the Link to the Redbook and Docs.
If i understand it right:
I create the Client Jobs Daily Inc. with the Backup Destination (Disk) and Archive Destination Tape Pool.
Max Number of Backup Versions are Set to 30.
Archive is Tape and Keep Archive is at this Time no Limits.
Can i set some more Retentions for the Archive (Like Archive only once at month or so?)
Sorry for the Beginner Questions.
About the Setup:
I have Diskpools (28TB/31TB) and a TS4300 Lib. with LTO7 Tapes (round about 200TB. The last 4 Tapes i have Problem to checkin. But this is a other Task) and one 10TB Storage for temp Store.
The Installation works fine (Backup and Restore from Disk and Tape are works fine).
