Hi -

We're just setting up a new instance of NetWorker on SUSE 10.2 and have an issue with our SCSI Overland LTO library. The LTO-3 drive has worked with another server in the past, and still works properly at the O/S level, using standard mt and tar commands, so we assume that it's OK.

In NetWorker, we can see and control the library, and see the drive. Tapes will load, mount and unmount correctly, but it appears that we're unable to perform read/write operations. I ran a cycle to label all of the tapes in the library, and the job reported that it completed OK, and NetWorker reported that the tapes all had been labeled to match their barcodes. After a restart, all of the tapes are again unlabeled.:(

Cannot clone or archive to the drive.

Thoughts?

EMC finally worked through the problem. There was a corrupt nsr/tmp file causing the process to hang. Not something I would have ever looked for.
