HSM - Multiple migration through multiple Servers

Hi,



I would like to migrate and backup files stored in different filesystems from the same TSM client on specific TSM server in TSM version 4.2.X.X on both client and Server..



e.g.

files stored in /test_1 should be migrated and stored in TSM Server 1

files stored in /test_2 should be migrated and stored in TSM Server 2

files stored in /test_3 should be migrated and stored in TSM Server 3



I read in the documentation that we can backup on one server and migrate on another but the case described before does not appear.



Does anyone try to do this or have any idea about this.

Under AIX (and Unix in general), this is possible but I don't know about non-Unix systems.



In the dsm.sys file, you have multiple servers defined. You then have multiple dsm.opt files, one for each TSM server. When you want to backup /test_1 to tsm1, you use dsm.opt.tsm1 and so on.



I've done this with multiple TSM servers on the same hardware, but it should work across hardware too.

I don't know if this is possible in 4.2.x.x.

I believe it will be possible from version 5.2 onward. I have found indications for this in the HSM 5.2 manuals page 114 which are currently available on IBM web sites (see URL http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/tividd/td/IBMTivoliStorageManagerforSpaceManagement5.2.html).



The command would be someting like dsmmigfs -server=<servername>.
