Good day to all!
Our IBM-guys sad, that HSM licensed per TB, but TB is the SUMM of STORAGE POOL SIZE!
So, if we have one disk pool and one tape pool - we summ size and pay them
after some conversation they send some license terms, where CAPACITY - SIZE of DISK pool and space UTILIZED in removable media pool.
as answer i send them that we must summ SIZE of disk pool and summ of bytes that migrated to TAPE pool (NOT SIZE OF ENTIRE POOL). because we can store not only HSM data in pool plus some words about compression and ESTIMATED capacity
Who are right ? i live in russia, so our IBM-guys may wrong because of translation of some license terms. What about you cases ? What about your IBM-guys and how they\you count this 'magic terrabytes' ?
