I am in the process on implementing a TSM server in a SAN environment. This is my first SAN installation and it is all new to me, but I am TSM(ADSM) Certified by IBM '98. The TSM Administrative Guide has the steps I need but they are not working for me, so I am not sure if I have all the correct components and if they are configured correctly. Let explain the first problem and then the details concerning the environment. Are there any red books or other documents available to assist?

SHOW STOPPING PROBLEM:

When I issue the Query San command the TSM Server application and Windows 2000 Sp3 system run at 30% and 70% respectfully with the no positive results. I have to stop the TSM Server using NET STOP to end the 100% usage condition. So I have no WWN and LUN as specified in the documentation. From the SAN configuration program I have the WWn and Serial number but I not sure how to form a DEVICE parm form it, ie. lb10.3.0.1.

- Where can I find a detailed description of the DEVICE parm elements?

- What patches are available to address the QUERY SAN hang? Or is there a patch?:-?
