How to specify backup device (tape, disk) in 7.6?

Hi all,

I've just installed an eval version of 7.6 at home on my ML110 server, w/ an LTO1 tape drive, so that I can experiment a bit with NetWorker. I use it at work, however in a limited capacity - my employer wouldn't look kindly upon my experimentation on production boxes!

I've created an advanced file device on the server's disk array, where I plan to back up daily, and then on the weekend run a different job that backs up the disk to tape... kind of a staging idea, but not based on watermarks.

My question is how do I direct a particular job to the disk, and another to the tape drive?

Hi,
The easiest thing for you to do here is use different pools. Use disks in one pool and tapes in the other. HTH.
