I'm trying to install ISC 6.0.0 on AIX 5.2 ML6. This is the first time I've installed the ISC but I think I've got everything right. The installer runs and gets to the point of "Performing Checks" and gets to 45% of "Preparing for install" and then I get this:

Installation of IBM Integrated Solutions Console may not proceed.

The following requirements have not been met:

Requirement of "ISC_Runtime_DiskSpace" was not satisfied.

Requirement of "ISC_Docs_DiskSpace" was not satisfied.

Here's what it says in the install doc says about disk space requirement:

To install the console on a system for the first time and use the WebSphere Application Server that is embedded in the console runtime, you need:

o 1521 MB to satisfy the installation program disk space check

o An additional 727 MB in the /tmp directory (which is also checked during the installation including 48 MB for JRE

o 780 MB for the completed installation

I think I should have plenty of space available:

I have about a gig free in /tmp, /usr, and /opt with the installer running and at the point where it displays the error.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? Or does anyone know what the actual disk space requirements are so I can get this installed?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin:

To install the ISC and AC:

982 MB to satisfy the installation program disk space check.

500MB for a completed installation.

679 MB in /tmp

Overall: I recommend that you create a seperate FS of 1.6GB and install both into there.

You should be fine if you follow my recommendations.

6.0 may require a little more... but this has always worked for me.

Thanks for that info. I created a 2 GB file system at /opt/IBM/ISC and was able to get passed that point. Now the install is failing for some other reason. It says to look in /tmp/ISCRuntimeInstall.log but I don't see what the problem is there. I looked in /tmp/ISCPreInstallConfigTask.log and I see the lines:

isc-app-server-setup-ewase:

[logAction] LogAction: Wed Jan 11 18:11:39 CST 2006: Start EWASE profile creation

[exec] INSTCONFFAILED: Cannot create profile: The profile does not exist.

That might be the culprit, but I'm not sure at this point. The next step is to try to uninstall it.

Thanks again.

My problem all along was that I was using the IBM verison of the ISC installer that I downloaded from ibm.com. I don't have the media for 5.3 but we are able to download the isntallers. I have now downloaded the ISC and Admin Center from the free download site. The ISC installer you get from there is the Tivoli version and that one works like a champ. Grrr... you would think that they would be the same, but not so much...

Now that I have it installed, I'm less than impressed. You can see and do all the same things that you can with the old GUI client that we've been using for years, but it's a ton slower and takes a lot more work to get the same things done.

What is the link to the tivoli version? I am running into the same install issues. Thanks.
