Do I need to increase the maxscr to the stg pool (DBCMD1)?

There are 17 private vols defined to dbcmd1 stg.. and the stg maxscr=120

Any hints to help me solve this problem, it is greatly appreciated it!!!!

No... you don't need to define additional scratch vols to stg's maxscr... but you'll be sure there will be scratch volumes in library... you'll see scratch status on some cartridges with q libvol command

If you see below, he did in fact show that he has 5 scratch volumes via his SQL query.

newtsm, are any of your storage pools specifying a reclaimation storage pool? Also, I noticed that you are collocated. I am curious how many processes you are using to back up your db and if that node would call for more than 5 tapes at a time.

Hope this helps,

Michael
