Hi, I am new to SAN stuff. I am looking for help on a simple procedure.

one of the fcs device of AIX server connected to a port on brocade switch, nothing is zoned and consuming port, port is enable. what should be the procedure for detaching this cable and freeing up this port for other server. I mean .... should I follow following steps,
1. delete fcsx device in AIX connected to switch
2. disable the port on the switch
3. running cfgmgr on PCI device to discover HBA again.
Does fcsx device starts giving error after becoming available in aix ... as it is not connected to any port and cable is just hanging?

should be simple and you guys might be doing it on everyday basis.
