Just by chance, have you checked to see if there are any environment variables set under the advanced tab of the system properties icon under control panel. Sometimes an environment variable like (dsm_config or dsm_dir) that points to an old opt file or older installation. Just a thought.

rpask,

This is your second thread with EXCACTLY the same problem!

I suggest you respectfully read my suggestion and return to the forum with an update on what your findings were.

PS: the link I posted here is to your first thread - you should not have ANY problems using this link.. Unfortunately ADSM.ORG will, as you have stated NOT correctly direct you to thread, but Web Browser will if you paste the very same URL into the address field. This is a bug in the adsm.org back-end, and should be addressed to the web manager.

Ok sorry about that!!!

I checked the dsm.opt file and yes language ameng" is in there.

What next?

Hi,

Well, dsm.opt is only one of several suggestions - what about the others I listed?

1: Run setup+Repair.

2: What is the value of BAclient GUI+Edit+Preferences+Regional Settings?

3: What is the content of directory ..baclient\eng_us?

4: What is the contents of directory ..TSM\api? You should have dscenu.txt, dscameng.txt and apienu.dll

5: Do you have dsierror.log present? If so what is its content?

Thanks for your help. I called tivoli support there was a problenm in the install. If anyone gets this error msg. Uninstall TSM and directories\ reboot\ reinstall and you should be OK. I didn't try it yet but I will let everyone know the outcome.
