Hello everyone, we are in the mids of planning to create a large TSM environment with multiply sites (10-20 clients + 1 tsm server each. Approximatly 20+ sites).



I am seeking good tools that will allow me to monitor the status of the TSM servers in the organization both per-site view and enterprize-wide views.



By monitoring I mean, status of backups, tapes, schedules etc.



Can you recommend any 3rd party tools or other solutions that will fit the job ?

there is a very good tool (and cheap) named : TSMManager it works in a single or multiple TSM server configuration.



It is 30-day evaluation with one server monitored.



The pricing of the program is as follows :

License for 1 TSM server : 3.000 US dollars

License for each extra TSM server : 1.500 US dollars

Example : 4 TSM servers = 1 x 3.000 + 3 x 1.500 = 7.500 US dollars.

Maximum price is 16.000 US dollars. This means that 10 servers and above will have a fixed price of 16.000 US dollars.

I personnaly use it with one server driving 180 clients on multiple platform. It works fine but you have to pay attention to certain kind of datas.

hello,



i also recommend the tsmmanager. it's very easy to use and gives you nice (graphical) overviews. but it only runs under windows.

we monitor with tsmmanager 5 tsm server and are very pleased with it.
