Enterprise module for tape movement

In an offsite location we use arcserve backup on a w2k3 server with a Dell Powervault 124T Tapelibrary for the backup. Since the people there handle the tapemovements but have little IT knowledge, i don't want to give them access to arcserve itself to checkout tapes, so I installed the trail-version of the enterprise module and configured it to report the tape-movement to and from the vault. I've just recieved the price for the Enterprise module and I'm kinda stund by the price, a lot of money for only regulating the tape-movement. Isn't there any other solution??

All I want is a report that will say which tapes need to be taken out of the library, en which tapes need to come back from the vault.

If that is all you want the Enterprise Module for then yes it is a lot of money for it.

If the backup is a GFS then it gives a media report for the next tapes needed.

Job logs will also have a record of the tapes used.

Check out the report writer perhaps you can use it to do what you want.

Worse case you will have to scan the activity log since it will have a record of both the tapes used and tapes needed for the next job.
