Good afternoon,

Many of my clients sched logs are over 100MB and they won't open. I want to rename them and create new logs- Is there an issue doing this? And are there any special considerations I should take into account?

Don't think there will be a problem. You can rename it and TSM will just create a new one. Remember to stop the TSM services on the client or else it won't let you rename the log file.

Great does anyone else have this problem and can this be automated? I am going try and do it with a script or even a VB script but if someone knows of a better way please share. If not I will post what I end up doing.

I had this problem on some of my bigger clients (600MB and 700MB log files) You can decrease the log retention on the client and it will keep it at a managable size.

You can also add "quiet" to the opt file and it will only give the summary and not the details.
