DRM Tapes Stuck In MOUNTABLE State

Hi everyone.
I inherited a TSM 7.1 environment with an attached VTL library containing a few hundred LTO 'tapes'. I discovered that many (over 300) of these tapes are MOUNTABLE but are not in a storage pool. They are in a slot. are private and have a last use date. That's all. I think their data expired without ever being moved from MOUNTABLE. They are not libvolumes. I tried to check them in, delete them, update them, move drm and nothing works. Their volume history says they are STGDELETE staus so would like to return them to scratch. Then using MOVE DRM going forward so they go through the DRM stages.
Suggestions please.
