Is DRM part of the extended edition? How do I know if I am licensed properly to start using DRM?

Thanks!

In the past, DRM was a separate item that was licensed. Talk to your IBM reseller to find out if you are licensed to use DRM.

I will do so. In the meantime, would q lic show this?

q lic will show if you have the license installed but that doesn't mean you have purchased it. IBM works on the honor system when it comes to core TSM licensing. They provide the license files for the core part of TSM (not the TDPs, etc) and request that you don't install the licenses for parts that you haven't purchased. They can come and perform an audit on your TSM server if there is a question. Anything you have licensed but not purchased you will be billed for.

When the server first starts up, I believe it spits out the licensing info there as well...so if you could 'bounce' the TSM server and then check the actlog -
I think then you would be able to see if DRM is licensed.

(I could be wrong about this - I can check...)

Yes - this does work -

q actlog search=ANR2828I

But q lic is more effective :)

To find out about DRM - check these lines:
Is Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition in use: Yes
Is Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition licensed: Yes

Do mind Aaron's suggestion.
Last thing your boss will want to hear is that you are cheating on your license agreement!

from the 5.4 Admin Guide:

"Tivoli Disaster Recovery Manager
