Hello TSM Experts,

In our daily media rotation activity, DRM checks out the "FILLING" volumes as well. Is this ok? Is there any way to make DRM consider only the volumes with "FULL" status and not to touch the "FILLING" ones?

We use below command for the purpose:

MOVE DRMEDIA * WHERESTATE=MOUNTABLE TOSTATE=VAULT REMOVE=BULK

Also, when we run reclaimation on copy pools, its updating reclaimed tapes to "courierretrieve". Is this fine? I am expecting it to "vaultretrieve".

Thanks

DRM checkin out FILLING volumes is fine.

Reclaimed copy pool volumes should be going vaultretrieve though. What version of TSM is this? Are you sure there is nothing in one of your scripts updating the vaultretrieve volumes to courierretrieve.. search the actlog .

Cheers

Tariq, TSM checks out tapes but is only concerned with the DATA on those tapes. It doesn't care how much or how little data is on a tape. If that data is not offsite yet, TSM will designate it to go offsite. The "Filling" or "Full" status is irrelevant to TSM regarding onsite/offsite data.

Thanks ilovetsm and GregE for your comments...

yes, it was getting changed to courierretrieve by another way!
