Our DB is about 85 gig in size and it took us about just over 5 hours to restore it in our DR exercise. Just wondering how long does it take any of you that are participating in this sort of exercise.
Restore times depends on the media that the DB is stored on.
For my 500+ GB 6.3.3 environment on devclass=file for DB storage, it just takes 3 hours. The 28 GB instance just 15 minutes.
Edit - A bit of clarification:
I forgot to mention that the 3 hours was for 2 X 500 GB TSM instances. This included the remove DB portion. Truly, it is just a little over 1 hour and 40 minutes for 2 X 500 GB restores
Last time I tried I restored around 500GB in an hour, maybe a little over that. I am also using devclass=file hosted on NAS (Data Domain) with 10Gbps connectivity, server and NAS on same subnet. I would be curious what you were reading from, and the type of disk you are restoring to.
