deleted volhist file

Hello,

I accedianly delete all of the volhist file content. Is there is a way to rebuild the volhist file? Would I run into issues because I lost the volhist file. (basically how important it is?)

Hi,



you lost what? The volhist FILE (volhist.out by default) or volume history information in the DB (by running "del volhist" command incorrectly?)



a) you lost volhist,out file

no problem - you can recreate it using "backup volhistory" command from TSM

it is important file when rebuilding server after DB crash, but experienced admin can do it eve without that (with some additional time)



b) "del volhist" command does not allow you to delete the most recent information, the worst thing you could do is messing up your DRM info - it is possible to recreate with some effort

I lost volhist information by running del volhist command incorrectly. Option B is what I did. I just relaize that by doing q volhist I lost all of the volume information from the volhist up to yesterday. but all of the volume created today are in the volhist file.
