Hi All ---

Could somebody explain to me how to get DBBackups to expire ?

Currently I have my DBBackup Expiration = 5 days, and my Volhist delete type=dbb = 7 days.

When expiration occurs on my system, it expires everything execpt my DBBackups, or my

DRM plan files. As a result they are getting deleted by the 'delete volhistory' command.

Which causes the tape volumes to fall out of TSM and become lost to the system. This

is really annoying, and I would like to find a better way to manage these tapes.

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

What version of tsm and what OS. This was a defect in a particular version of TSM....can't recall which one. Also, just curious why you don't have the expiring of the dbbackup and the del volhist both set to the same value?
