hello

i want to move my tsm server from one blade to another blade server having the same configuration,


is it necessory to restore the TSM database on the traget server or i can copy the database disk volume from source server to target server ?

Hi,

no need to restore the DB. You need do keep configuration files (dsmserv.dsk and dsmserv.opt) and have DB (and Log) files in the same location (path).
Install the same version of TSM, on Windows go through TSM instance creation wizard (registry keys) and replace the files.

This is for TSM 5.x, no info for 6.1.x

and what about the Volhist and device configuration file do i need to replace these two files as well ?

do i need to do Minimal configuration from TSM management console ?

I believe what Harry was saying is to setup the TSM (new) server the way you have setup your original TSM (old) server and replace all of the resulting (new) configuration files with the ones from the old server.
