data base backup slower later on in the day

Hi everyone.

We are using tsm 5.4.1.2
on a Window 2003

We run Maintenance every weekday at 5:00 am
What we notice is that the later on in the day the database backup could take up to hour or more to complete. if database is backup early in the morning around 6:00 am the backup take 28 minutes. We are connect to fiber from server to tape drives. How anyone notice this issue. I just can not see it as a network issue. Does anyone has some thought on this?

Check the percentage utilization of your TSM log before the backup starts.
Are there other client sessions or other processes taking place at that time?

1) What activities are happening on your machine outside of TSM
2) What activities are happening on TSM (procs and sessions)
