Copy pool performance impact

While installing and configuring TDPVMware and noticing a pretty poor performance during backups, i thought that having a copy pool for my CTL files might affect the backup performance.

For instance, if i have a storage pool of a VERY fast storage that is set to be copied with simultaneous write to a VERY slow storage, will that affect the backup performance? Is TSM waiting for an acknowledgement of the data being written succesfuly for both targets before moving on?

It can affect the performance because both writes need to complete before the transaction completes. You could test easily by temporarily disabling simultaneous write, just keep in mind you will need to do backup stgpool to copy what's missed by disabling it.
