we have 2 EMC DL710 Libraries on 2 sites as primary pool, 3 3584/LTO2 as copy pool. For ease of use our consultant recommended to emulate 3584/LTO2 on the VTLs.
Now there was a loss of one of two fiber paths to the virtual library with the consequence that the medium changer was inaccessible. On a "real" 3584 we can define a control path failover, but according to EMC this is not possible with their CDL.
Is there any other way for increasing reliablility, maybe even through defining a 3492 with 3592 drives? I know this would mean a long migration time, but if it could help we would do it.
