Has anyone tried using journalling backups on large file print servers?

Need to know if there are any implications using this method of backups on both Server side of things and TSM..

Are there any pitfalls??

:-o

Journalling would not be something I would use on a print server, but I could be wrong? Are the queue names static or do new files get generated for each job then are deleted? Journalling can also impact performance on some machines so unless the print server is a beast with lots of power I would be cautious.

The server is a file print server containing all Office data and User data.. Current backups are taking 3 hours plus because its inspecting loads of files before backup begins, I thought Journal Backups would track any file changes during the day, then when it comes to the backup it would quicker reducing network traffic and TSM Server load..

Have you tested it??
