Hi, having problems backing up drives on a client.

TSM Server running TSM 5.1.6.2

Client running NT5 and TSM 5.1.5.0

A manually initiated backup from the client works fine,

but scheduled backups are failing with the following errors:

TSM ACTLOG:

05/15/03 05:58:51 ANR0484W Session 135459 for node CASABLANCA.UNET (WinNT)

terminated - protocol violation detected.

05/15/03 06:18:51 ANR0406I Session 135601 started for node CASABLANCA.UNET

(WinNT) (Tcp/Ip 130.216.2.149(4332)).

Client log:

05/15/2003 06:20:09 --- SCHEDULEREC OBJECT BEGIN ADS 05/15/2003 05:15:00

05/15/2003 06:20:09 ANS1149E No domain available for incremental backup

05/15/2003 06:20:09 --- SCHEDULEREC OBJECT END ADS 05/15/2003 05:15:00

05/15/2003 06:20:09 ANS1512E Scheduled event 'ADS' failed. Return code =

12.

(the protocol error and the domain error are from different sessions

so may not be related)

Client opt file:

NODE NAME CASABLANCA.UNET

PASSWORDACCESS GENERATE

TCPSERVERADDRESS TSM2.ITSS.AUCKLAND.AC.NZ

any ideas would be gratefully received...rjc

Hi!

I sow one thing in your DSM.OPT file.

You have a space between NODE and NAME.

Is there also a space between NODE and NAME in your real dms.opt file?

Remove that one and it´s maybe work better then. :p

Hi!

When you run schedule, TSM will process all local drives except for the c, d, e, f drive and systemobject because you have added to dsm.opt the following:

DOMAIN -C:

DOMAIN -D:

DOMAIN -E:

DOMAIN -F:

DOMAIN -SYSTEMOBJECT

So you should remove/comment these option.

Regards,

Dima
