Regarding Cleaning tapes - IBM TS1130 / 3592 type E06 JB cartridge

We are going through cleaning tapes faster than the Operations manager seems to think is normal. Can anyone point me to specs that explain the specs for how much activity must occur on a tape drive before a cleaning tape is requested, and how many uses the cleaning tapes provide?

Cleaning normally is set 'as needed'. Check your settings.

In my old environment, a cleaning tape normally last around 150 or so cleanings.

Frequency is also dependent on how 'dirty' the environment is. If your tape library sits in a 'not so clean' room, the more cleanings is needed.
