So I'm starting DRM for a client. They have over 200 volumes in their on site sequential storage pool. I'm running the backup stgpool blah to blahcopy during the day, canceling the processes after several hours of copying to insure mount point contention with the nightly backups is reduced. I'm getting around 7 to 11 volumes copied per day in their Powerderhorn.

What I need to do is find a way to query the TSM database to figure out what volumes have been copied, and how many volumes I have left to copy from the source storage pool to the target copy storage pool.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Philip

Is this what you are looking for?

backup stpgool {primarypool} {copypool} perview=yes

How many storage pools do you have? How many tape drives do you have? How many processes are you running to backup each storage pool the initial time? Are all storage pools going offsite?
