Changing ts3310 cleaning tape

We will soon need to replace our TSM ts3310 cleaning tape and I am finding a lot of confusing information about the process of changing the tape.

We have the cleaning Frequency set as NONE, and I have not found a clear way that the replacement is to be done using NONE in the frequency. From what I have read the normal checkout and checkin process does not appear to work for this.

Does anyone have any knowledge or suggestions on the tape replacement?

Use the console of the tape library or the WEB GUI to change cleaning tapes.

IBM allocates two to three slots - depending on the model and how many frames you have - for cleaning tapes which is normally located at the lowest numbered slots.

Set cleaning to 'as needed' which is what I set to.
