Hi Folks,

Does anyone know a way of changing the Title of inidividual DSMADMC Admin consoles being called through desktop shortcuts to different opt files?

I find it annoying in Windows 7, when I minimize my numerous Admin Consoles that each one says the same 'IBM Tivoli Storage Manager' and gives me no indication of what console is which when on the bottom bar. Currently I have to flick through them until I find the right one which wastes times! So I thought there must be a way of renaming the title like there is for normal dos cmd windows?

Anyone done this and can point me in the right direction please?

Thanks

You can change the title IF you are dealing with plain DOS windows. Once you call a program like dsmadmc.exe, Windows will grab the name of the 'called' program and use that to display the title of that opened DOS window.

It is easy if you use PuTTY and running Linux or any UNIX environment. PuTTY can have its own window label or name.

Try this:

1. Open a DOS window
2, CD to the directory that has dsmadmc.exe
3. DO NOT call dsmadmc.exe yet
4. Type: TITLE Test Window
5. You will notice that the title has changed to Test Window
6. Call dsmadmc.exe. The title changes!
