Hello.
We are running TSM Client 6.2.2 on Windows XP machine.
In order to prepared for a Bare Metal restore for that machine we followed the procedure "Creating an Automated System Recovery diskette (Windows
XP and Windows Server 2003)" described in the
"Tivoli® Storage Manager for Windows Backup-Archive Clients
Version 6.2.2
Installation and User's Guide
SC23-9792-" p.128ff.
But unfortunately the new Hardware "Lenovo ThinkCentre" does not have a floppy drive.
In addition on p. 177
1.The ASR files must be accessible from a local floppy drive.
2.The floppy and DVD drives cannot be external PC-card drives
Now to the questions:
1.What is the recommended System Recovery procedure for Windows XP when having floppy drive for creating the ASR diskette ?
Have searched the TSM documentation and as well the Tivoli redbooks without success.
2.Is there a way to circumvent usage of ASR diskette during create ASR and during restore with ASR ?
eventually a USB Stick could be used here ....
Thankx in advance for any hint.
