I am searching a viable bare metal restore solution for our TSM Server on Linux (SUSE) . It must be restored from an online image backup of the system disk and supporting software raid (mdadm) and logical volume manager (lvm).

Use the native SUSE system backup and restore utility under YaST. but be aware, make a fresh backup whenever you do updates to the OS and system.

Storix (ads all over this page) will backup and restore the TSM server itself, as well as backing up/resotring the clients to the tsm server. Supports all the features of "sysback" and "nim" for AIX, but does it for AIX, Linux and Solaris (no Windows).

can the CBMR bootp server coexist on a AIX NIM server ?

Hi,
As long the BOOTP server is a standard BOOTP software.
What BOOTP does is only pointing to a Boot Image that need to be supported by the hardware you boot up on.

Last time I setup a BOOTP server did I boot up CBMR for Windows, Linux and SUN (Sparc) from a single x86 RedHat Server.

Thanks
Christian
