what are the backup sets? and how to restore backup set without TSM server on DR site ?

and how to create backup sets ?

A backup up set is a "copy" of all the "active data for a given node (though I believe since 5.4 you can perform a point in time backup set)

A backup set is performed using the generate backup set command

it is independent of the tsm database, I believe a single entry,
there is an option to write a table of contents to the backup set

in a DR situation you can restore utilizing a tape drive, library etc. without getting tsm up
