Hi
Using TSM4Ve when we have a failed VM overnight in a shedualed job ,while we are finding, fixing the issue of the fail we do a run now thta usualy will work as long as there are a few failures
but if i only have one faileur i get the character limit issue through the gui
can i run a command on the Tivoli Storage manager Command builder to do a full backup of that one machine?

Yet to have my coffee so bear with me.
You mentioned a character limit? That sounds like a limit with the schedule you are using. There's a few workarounds to that so you don't have to do a manual backup. Such as using a folder, or think even tagging. I am currently using folders which works pretty well for my environment.

So if you use the command builder to define a one time schedule it could start now, or x number of days/hours depending on how your environment is set up.

An easy way to get an on demand backup of the vm is goto the datamover, dsmc and run backup vm <vmnade>

Hope this helps
