I am using dsmamdc on my VMware client running Debian to issue commands on my TSM server.

The backspace key seems to be completely ignored.

I have to ctrl +c if I make a mistake and then re-login

I'm wondering if anybody has found a way to delete characters once typed.

Any help appreciated.

TSM Server version

Ver 5, Rel.2 Level 2.0

Windows XP Professional SP2 (d'oh)

TSM Client version

5.3.0.0

VMware Workstation v. 4.0.5 build-6030

uname -a

Linux Debian2 2.4.27-2-386 #1 (date stripped) i686 GNU/Linux

At the Linux command prompt, type "stty erase {backspace key}". This will set the "backspace" to the backspace key instead of the delete key (or Ctrl + H)

This is normally a problem for someone who has their term setting set to something other then what their term really is (like vt320 on a vt100 term)
