I am working on a DEC/Compaq/HP Tru64 v5.1 Cluster with CDSL's (Context Dependent Symbolic Links) and I am trying to find a consistent way to back up the data when the resource group fails over to the backup server.
The way I understand CDSL's to work is that if the underlying directory/filesystem is something like:
"/opt/db/dump/"
the filesystem actually shows up as:
"/opt/cluster/members/member1/db/dump" on node 1 in the cluster and as
"/opt/cluster/members/member2/db/dump" when and if the resource group fails
over to node 2.
The "df" and the "mount" command display
"/opt/cluster/members/member?/db/dump" and not "/opt/db/dump". Upon failover
I do not want to have to backup "/opt/cluster/members/member2/db/dump" as a
whole new backup.
Has anyone configured a TSM Client on a Tru64 Cluster that uses CDSL's?
Thanks.
