anyone using the scheduler on Mac without CAD? TSM 6.2.2

My boss is concerned about the security vulnerabilities that the CAD has had in the past. So I want to try starting the TSM scheduler without the CAD by putting it in /library/startupitems. I wanted to see if anyone else had done this or if this is even feasible.
