I can't seem to get this to work from my location, (yet I successfully belong to several list servers at midrange.com).

There is a couple of paragraphs in a simple README.API file on a CD I received from IBM. Part of that states:

- To participate in user discussions of Tivoli Storage Manager you can

subscribe to the ADSM-L list server. This user forum is maintained by

Marist College and subscribed to by more than 1,500 users (at the

time of this writing). While not officially supported by IBM, Tivoli

Storage Manager developers and other IBM support staff also participate

on an informal, best-effort basis. Because this is not an official IBM

support channel, you should contact IBM Technical Support if you require

a response specifically from IBM. Otherwise there is no guarantee that

IBM will respond to your question on the list server.

You can subscribe by sending a note to the following e-mail address:

[email protected]

The body of the message must contain the following:

SUBSCRIBE ADSM-L yourfirstname yourlastname

The list server will send you a response asking you to confirm the

subscription request. Once you confirm your subscription request, the

list server will send you further instructions. You will then be able

to post messages to the list server by sending e-mail to:

[email protected]

Yet I can't this to work for the life of me.

I've got a similar problem - our mail system (Notes) sticks a "business use" disclaimer onto the body of all outgoing email. The listserv apparently can't handle this; every time I try to subscribe the server rejects the request because of the text at the end of the email. I haven't been able to get any help from the administrator, either.

I don't think that is it. I sent a test message from my Notes client to a test yahoo account I have and it didn't have any footer.
