ANS9201W-LAN-Free Path Failed

I have an issue,
Taking DB2 backup
DB2 on AIX, DB2 data on SAN, TSM storage agent, TSM client
ping from server to client and client to server. is OK
Telnet from client. is OK
Check the password which you register node on server and on client with dsmsta command. is OK
devconfig.out file is ok
./dsmsta is ok

the drive serials number matched. its ok as well

all seems ok.

when i run backup the error i get in dsmerror.log is
04/08/09 14:27:49 Error -450 opening session
04/08/09 14:27:49 cuSignOnResp: Error -72 reading SignOn response from server.
04/08/09 14:27:49 sessOpen: Error -72 receiving IdentifyResp verb from server
04/08/09 14:27:49 ANS9201W LAN-free path failed.
04/08/09 14:27:49 ANS9201W LAN-free path failed.

please let me know asap if you have any idea

Hi,

You can try the foillowing things to find out the cause of problem. So that trouble shooting will be easy.

1) validate the lanfree from server
2) Start the storage agent in foreground and check whether it is started without any errors, if started without any problem then run the test backup and check whether tapes are mounting, from this if there is any errors, based on this further trouble shooting can be done.

file system backup, runs, the tapes get mounted on tapelibrary drive. but db backup still fails and error is lan free path failed

Hi,

what version of BA Client & Storage Agent are you running?
I am having similar errors occur running, Client 5.5.2.2 & Storage Agent 5.5.1.0 with Server 5.5.3.0
