ANS9020E Could not establish a session with a TSM server or client agent.

Hi guy,

My problem is that when I schedule the backup i am getting the following error: -

ANS5216E Could not establish a TCP/IP connection with address '192.10.1.53:1500'. The TCP/IP error is 'Cannot reach the destination network. ' (errno = 70).

ANS9020E Could not establish a session with a TSM server or client agent. The TSM return code is -50.


the scheduler backup could not start, it just pending. i notice the session, the session state is just idle, is not running at all.


Can someone please give me some advise on this. I'm very new to TSM , any help would be appreciated.

Check for tcpserveraddress in your dsm.opt\dsm.sys and confirm servername\IP address. As per this i think your tcpserveraddress is poting to this '192.10.1.53:1500'. It should be only the server name or IP address of ur tsm server.

If still not resolved, post your DSM.opt \Dsm.sys file here.

the backup was just pending, it couldnt start. no session established for that server.
why this happen?

Can someone please give me some advise on how to best deal wtih this situation.

i notice the scheduled backup for profitas1 it just only pending, couldnt start at all, i check the actlog, the session is started for node profitas2_sys. why like tat? now the problem also happen to profitas 2 backup. i dont know why. they just pending until it become missed.... not run at all....

can some one pls guide me how to solve it.... very urgent.....

Can the client and server ping one another?

ya... it can ping.... from tsm server to that server is pingable..

Ok, try telnet from client to server and check whether you are able to connet.

telent < ip>:1500 and check.

Ok, Wht exactly happens when you open DSMC (command-line), is it trying to establish session and fails with connection failure error. IF yes, then just to check, disable your enablelanfree parameter in your dsm.sys and check opening dsmc again. ALso wht is the server name u have specified in dsm.opt.

It can't establish session for profitas1. but i dont know why the tsm try to establish the session for profitas2_sys. the profitas2_sys is monthy backup, it support not run at this time.
