Morning,

I don't have shadow copy enabled on any of the drives so I can I get rid of this error?

WIN2K3 uses VVS when backing up systemstate... regardless if you have it enabled for the drives.

What client version are you using?
I had that problem when I was using 5.3 clients on non sp1 2k3 servers.

You can also exclude the systemstate from the backup and use ntbackup instead to dump it out for you.

or you can apply to get the hotfix.
