The backstory: Recently we upgraded one of our TSM/Spectrum Protect servers from version 6.3.6.100 to 7.1.8.0. There were a couple of minor issues but the upgrade went very smoothly. Afterwards, we noticed one client (out of 600+) that was throwing this ANS1592E code. The client was at the 7.1.8.0 level prior to the server upgrade but had not backed up for a few days due to the dsmcad being down. After the server upgrade, we started the dsmcad on this client and got the ANS1592E right away.

Our server is on a zLinux guest running RHEL 6.9 and the client is an S390/zLinux client. I have read a number of possible fixes but nothing I have tried has worked (including a complete uninstall of 7.1.8.0 and an install of the latest 8.1.4.1 BA client).

Has anyone encountered this issue, specifically on Linux? What was your solution?
